Now This Is A Bad Week

Well, I've gone back & forth about putting this out there, but decided that aside from the fact that there are those of you who would like to know what's going on, I would also deeply appreciate all the kind thoughts and prayers you have to offer my family right now.
Last week my dad was diagnosed with throat cancer. It's been a very rough week for all of us, especially for my poor dad. They've yet to give a clear indication as to whether he's at stage 2 or stage 4. Big difference. But either way he will begin treatment chemo/radiation combo next week.
This is probably the biggest and scariest thing to hit our family ever, and all your well wishes and good thoughts would be deeply, deeply, appreciated by myself, my sister, brother, mom, stepmom, and all his loving grandkids. Along with all the other people who love my dad.
He's in good health, and though this type of cancer is caused by prolonged drinking & smoking (please think twice dear friends....) he hasn't been drinking or smoking in well over 10 years. This will help dearly in the upcoming fight.
Those of you who want more details or anything can feel free to call or email me. Otherwise PLEASE say a prayer for my family.
Thank you more than you know,
Meghan

Bargain Books & Cosmic Tales From JamsBio

So today we went to a book sale over at the library, and bought a bagload of stuff for a whopping $5!! Man I love that. We got some cool stuff but my score was a sweet hard copy first edition of The DaVinci Code! 50 cents! Everytime I've read it, I've had to borrow it. Yay! I also got Angels & Demons for 10 cents! Haven't read it yet, but have wanted to ever since the first time I read DaVinci Code. Score. I love book sales.

So over at my new internet hang-out, JamsBio there have been some strange happenings. On Thursday I got a comment on a memory I wrote about my big brother. I went to read it and can you believe, it was an old girlfriend of his from YEARS ago. A friend told her about JamsBio months ago and she was finally checking it out, she clicked on a tag marked brothers and read my story. It wasn't until she got to the end that she saw the picture of me and my brother. Strange enough? It gets better, the picture I just happened to choose, of all the 30 years of pictures I have of me and my brother, was a picture taken while she was right there! Still not spooked? Well it gets better, we were just talking about this old girlfriend not two weeks ago, because I now live in the same house that she grew up in... Wait, there's more. So after a couple of days of talking with her via myspace, I finally decide to call big brother and tell him. What does he tell me before I can even get the story out? That he had just sat down to read the story I wrote about him. Another 5 minutes and he would have seen the message she left for himself... So what's to come of this strange cosmic happening? I don't know yet, but I highly suggest you all get your butts over to JamsBio and see what cosmic things transpire for you...
By the by, my sister has ventured onto JamsBio as well so check it out, Candice's JamsBio.
Once you are on leave me a comment and let me know so I can add you to my favorites.

Also, who has seen Rock The Cradle? It's on MTV and is American Idol meets one of those E! THS about children of rockstars. I found it strangely addictive. I think I'm in lust with Dee Schneider's son. Olivia Newton John's daughter is a little green, but really haunting. I mean in a good way. She did Never Tear Us Apart by INXS, and wow.  It was haunting. Not the best singer of the group, but something stuck with me about the performance. I'm intrigued to see what she and the rest of them do next...

A Pretty Good Day..

Well today was just that, a pretty good day. We finally got a call form our lawyer that (insert drum roll please) WE HAVE A COURT DATE!! Yay! May 7th at 10:30 AM the next (and hopefully final) chapter of the Harvey Family Bankruptcy 2008 will begin! Boy, you know you're burned out when you're so desperate for a break that you look forward to a day in bankruptcy court....

I just got back from dinner with an old dear dear dear friend at Chevy's. There is nothing that rejuvenates you better than dinner with an old gal pal! It was great to just chill and gossip and catch up, with no kids running around and just being me. Very nice. Next time she's here in Cali we're going to do it again.

This kind of brings me to my new thing I'm doing on Sundays. I'm making it a point to call an old friend every Sunday. This may seem strange, but I never get a chance to chat with my girls, so I'm making a point to get a good girl chat in once a week (no my mom & sister do not count, I talk to them everyday). It's good for the soul, ya know?

Have you been to JamsBio yet? GO NOW! NOW NOW NOW! Please register and leave me some feedback, and then write a few of your own... Not to mention reading the myriad of great stories on there! If you're looking for more cool JamsBio's to read check my favorites list on my home page.

I have decided that I'm going back to school in the fall to get my ECE units to teach pre-school. I think I'll be more than ready to stop doing daycare once Cheyanne starts kindergarten, so I'm trying to make a plan now. I love being home with my own kids, but I think 2 more years of these 11 hour days with other people's kids is about all I have left in me... I love em all, but man I'm exhausted these days.
